The Garden Wagon
At Crew View/Designer Run before tech, we learned the way we had originally planned for the wagon to move on and off stage would no longer work with how the show had evolved during the rehearsal process.
To solve this problem, the scenic designer and I discussed and came up with the additional gold rail to attached to the wagon. I was able to draft, assemble and install the railing in time for tech that weekend.
The Doors
The Doors had several logistical challenges to work out; during the show scenic pieces would continuously enter and exit through them, a single actor had to be able to open the door by themselves, the inside of the door frame were light boxes, along with being sixteen feet tall.
The frame was built out of 1 inch tube steel and the doors were Hollywood flats double faced in order to keep the unit light and easy to use. Using steel for the frame also left the required space needed to have light boxes inside.
